Anger Management Classes For Allies
ALLIES & ANGER CLASS DESCRIPTION
This new class responds to the needs of partners and other concerned persons, who are in a relationship with someone working on managing their anger problem.
WHO THIS PROGRAM IS FOR
- For people who are married to, live with or work with a person who is exhibiting abusive angry behavior.
- For People who have questions and concerns about another person who is struggling with an anger problem.
CLASS SUMMARY
A 4-week course offered by the Anger Management program that provides partners of people going through Anger Management with some clarity and support about the process. While dispelling some myths and stigmas around AM, this class will offer ways to help one’s partner while also practicing self-care.
MAIN CLASS OBJECTIVES
- What are realistic expectations for someone in Anger Management
- How to practice safety (for you and them)
- How to Self-Care
- How Time-Outs work best
- What is healthy communication
- Conflict resolution models
- Role of Self-Talk and Shame in anger
CLASS STRUCTURE
- Length of Class: One evening per week for 4 consecutive weeks. Each class lasts about two hours.
- Number of Participants: Space is limited to 10 participants with 1 facilitator.

- Format: In-person and/or virtual (hybrid) options (if applicable)

- Stress, anger, escalation & abuse as components of problem
- The Tower of Anger
Week 2
- Begin with check-in
- Discuss Negative Self-Talk
- Role of Shame in anger problem
- Progress can be non-linear
Week 3
- Begin with check-in
- Explain EPP process
- Empowerment as the alternative
- Healthy communication
- Conflict Resolution model
