Monthly Men's Sunday Morning Brunches (bring something to share/cook up) continue to be an enjoyable time for men to hang out together and enjoy good food with no agenda whatsoever. Next brunches: Sunday, December 17th at Paul Busch's, 4421 43rd Ave S, Minneapolis, 612/721-4043. Sunday, January 21st at Frank Brandon's, 975 Como Ave, St. Paul, 651/487-3008. These brunches are open to all men and start at 10 a.m. Plan to come and chat and eat for a 1/2-hour to 2-hour period anytime until 1 p.m. —inevitably some men stay on until 2 p.m. - Andy Mickel, 2000-11-21.

Minnesota World AIDS Day 2000 will be held Dec. 2nd at Minneapolis Community College. Of the 6,252 cases of HIV that have been reported in Minnesota, 2,194 of these people have died, and an estimated 2,600 people living in Minnesota don't even know they're infected, so the beat goes on and on, with a new case diagnosed in Minnesota every 28 hours. - Carl Eller, Chair, World AIDS Day Committee, MN Dept of Human Services, 444 Lafayette Rd N, St. Paul 55155 - 2000-10-03.

"Andy, here at last are 25 copies of the Fall issue of Voice Male (the journal of the Men's Resource Center of Western Massachusetts, http://www.mrc-wma.com/), and I hope men at TCMC enjoy them. I'd appreciate you putting them out. Featured articles: Raising Boys, Emotional Intelligence, Having a Gay Father, Men's Rights—or What's Right for Ren. We'd like to be featured in one of your issues so that other readers will know about our work. Question: how many Men Talk newsletters do we mail out each issue? We'd be interested in discussing sending free copies to your members if this is something you'd like to pursue.

All the best," Rob Okun, Editor. - 2000-11-09. National Center for Fathering in Kansas City (www.fathers.com) reports this critical problem—the pervasiveness of fatherlessness. Currently, more than 27 million children-39% of all US children-now live apart from their father. In a typical year, well over one-third of these children won't even see their dad. - 2000-11-20.

"I want to start an experimental study group to explore the wounds between men and their fathers focused on Michael Gurien's Book: The Prince and the King. Emphasis will be on healing the father-son wound; a guided journey of initiation with lots of sharing. I propose meetings scheduled once or twice a month. Men who have struggled (or continue to have difficult relationships)with their fathers or sons and want to better understand how to frame and get another view of their troubled and complex history are especially encouraged to join. Please contact me if you are interested." - Harry Greenberg E-mail: harry@scc.net, 612/870-9418. - 2000-11-19.
