Men's Health & Well-Being Symposium - October 20, 2001

2001 Twin Cities

Men’s Health & Well-Being Symposium (2001 MHWS)

The Twin Cities Men's Center is coordinating and (co-) sponsoring a 1-day symposium dedicated to Men's Health and Well-Being. It will be held all day, Saturday, October 20th, in conjunction with a weekend celebration of the Men's Center's 25th anniversary (October 21st) as a non-profit organization. Save the date of October 20th!

The Symposium mission is:

"To educate and inspire men to improve their own health (self-care)."

Symposium Goals

  • Provide a definition of health & well-being: defined broadly (integrative / holistic health; & body, mind, spirit), including physical health, emotional health, spiritual health, social health, intellectual health.
  • Describe means to achieve greater health and well-being.
  • Reinvigorate TCMC base of support: new involvement, energy, volunteers, members at the Men's Center.
  • Be a simple-to-produce and economically sustaining event which modestly adds to the energy and resources of the Men's Center.

Peter Mitchell has stepped forward to be the chair of the all-important Program Task Group responsible for issuing a call for presentations to the community of health-care professionals. So far he is aided by: J.C. Hancock, Stephen Sewell, Dean Jurek and Ranslow Zuber. We will publish a collection of the 20 presentation abstracts in the August-September issue of Men Talk.

Call for Presentations

Interested professionals in all related fields of health and well-being are invited to submit proposals for a conference session. Please use this Call for Presentations.
