The Executive committee actions were: Anger Management Director position was reaffirmed for seven months to Feb of 2001. Concern still exists for the need for more volunteers in all aspects of the Men’s Center operation.

Remember the Men’s Center is important to you and me; it is important to the Twin Cities community; and it is important to the Men’s movement in the United States. I hope that you all will see and realize this importance and VOLUNTEER your time and talents by serving on our committees or by filling some of the HELP WANTED positions listed.

Hoping you see Glory in your life,

-- John Kuyper, Board Chair/MENTALK Coordinator

Pride Festival 2000 Recognition

The Men’s Centers high visibility created an excellent impression at this year’s Pride Festival held on June 24th & 25th weekend, attended by thousands. Thanks to our members and friends who made this good impression.

Special recognition to those who assisted with the booth: Drake from the Twenty Something group, Josh & Bob a Tuesday night facilitator. The parade unit consisted of a truck show vehicle which got all the parade viewers attention. The truck had the Men’s Center sign mounted on top of the cab and decked out with red fringe and flags. The Twenty Something group sponsored the tossing of candy by Drake to parade viewers. Thanks! Drake.

We had 200 watts of powered music piped out, supplied by Wide Angel Records of 42nd & Nicollet Ave. The owner of the show truck, Richard M. who made this all possible. Thanks! Our photographer Jim from Northfield took photo shots of the booth and parade unit. Thanks!

-- Booth attendant and parade rider, Jerry Olson.
